Moldova marks 35th Independence Day on giant São Paulo screen
Republica Moldova a ajuns pe un ecran digital gigant din São Paulo, Brazilia, unde, de Ziua Independenței, a fost afișat un mesaj dedicat celor 35 de ani de la proclamarea independenței țării. Gestul se înscrie într-o serie de inițiative prin care simbolurile Republicii Moldova sunt prezentate în spații publice importante din lume.

The public display showcased the bilingual anniversary emblem "35 Moldova – 35 anos – 1991–2026" alongside national symbols, celebrating the declaration of independence adopted on August 27, 1991.
Diplomatic engagement
The initiative was promoted on social media by Larisa Miculeț, Moldova's Chargé d'Affaires a.i. to Ireland, who publicly credited Flavio Mendes Bitelman, Moldova’s Honorary Consul in Brazil, for securing the projection.
“Thank you, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Brazil,” Miculeț said in a statement.
The São Paulo installation is part of a broader cultural diplomacy campaign projecting Moldovan national symbols onto major international landmarks on Independence Day. In 2024, Moldova's national flag and coat of arms were projected onto a prominent façade in São Paulo, while in 2025, India’s historic Qutub Minar monument in New Delhi was illuminated in the Moldovan tricolor—blue, yellow, and red—to mark bilateral friendship.
