Major fire devastates two villages in Russia
Major fires in the Russian Federation. The press reports that the villages of Sosva and Tajiny in the Sverdlovsk region have almost completely burned down. One person died as a result of the fires.
Nearly 180 buildings have been burned down. Among them, 32 non-residential houses, eight dwelling houses, two outbuildings, a shop and the roof of a block of flats. By contrast, more than 1,300 other buildings were protected from the fire by rescuers. Some 380 people and 112 rescue teams were involved in the firefighting effort.
A group of specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation has already arrived in the Sverdlovsk region to coordinate the fire-fighting process and provide necessary assistance to the affected residents.
