The NATO flag was trampled by a group of people, right in front of the NATO Information Centre in Chisinau. In the controversial pictures, which appeared on several social media, a group of people can be seen, led by the unaffiliated MPs Alexandr Nesterovschi and Irina Lozovan.

They tore down the NATO flag and sprayed it with red paint, which they say symbolises the blood NATO has shed in Serbia, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Syria and Libya. At the same time, the demonstrators held slogans that read: "We are for Peace without NATO", "We want friendship between peoples", "NATO militates for war and not for Peace".

The protest was organised by the initiative group on the creation of a pro-Russia party. So far, the NATO Information Centre in Chisinau has not come up with a reaction.
