Prime Minister Vasile Tofan will speak at the 81st UN General Assembly in New York

The European path of the Republic of Moldova and the security risks in the region will be addressed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan during his visit to New York from September 23 to 26. The head of Government will take part in the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly and will deliver a speech in plenary on September 26.

The current session of the UN General Assembly is themed “*Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all”.

At the same time, the visit’s agenda includes bilateral meetings with heads of government and discussions with representatives of the business community in the United States.

The Prime Minister aims to strengthen economic relations, attract new American investment and promote the opportunities offered by the Republic of Moldova.

The head of the Government in Chișinău will also address the security situation in the region and the country’s European path, with the visit’s programme also including a meeting with Moldovan citizens settled in the United States.


We remind you that, since being sworn in as Prime Minister on 22 July, this is Vasile Tofan’s second official visit abroad.

The first took place in Bucharest, on 30 July this year.
