Organized by the National Tourism Office with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the forum will focus on discussions regarding the development of a tourism sector that is more competitive and aligned with modern consumption and promotion models.

According to the organizers, the event serves as "the primary platform for strategic dialogue between public authorities, the private sector, industry associations, and international development partners."

The gathering aims to foster cooperation between public institutions and the private sector and to identify solutions for adapting the tourism industry to changes in the international market.

This year's edition will also include an international component, with participation from representatives of the booking platform Booking.com, the airline airBaltic, and the Slovenian Tourist Board, as well as experts accredited by UN Tourism. Representatives from the diplomatic corps, the financial sector, and creative industries are also expected to attend.

A specific topic of discussion will be the presence of tour operators and accommodation providers on digital platforms. Representatives from Booking.com will discuss the importance of having a presence on the platform, the associated benefits, and the steps required to register and list a property.

According to the National Tourism Office, the forum aims to move beyond general discussions about international developments and instead analyze their practical application within the Republic of Moldova.

"Moldova Tourism Forum 2026 aims to create a space where institutions, entrepreneurs, and experts can discuss not only the trends transforming tourism globally but also how these can be concretely applied in the Republic of Moldova," the institution stated.

The event agenda includes four panel discussions. The first session will address global trends, technologies, and public policies for tourism, including sustainability, integrated diplomacy, and local partnerships. The second will focus on marketing, creativity, innovation, and artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on digital distribution and promotional campaigns.

The third panel will cover the development of tourism products and destinations, including holiday vouchers, the digitization of cultural heritage through 3D tours, and medical tourism. Finally, the last panel will address sector financing, SME investment, rural tourism, and cluster-based collaboration.

The National Tourism Office states that the event's objective is to build a tourism destination that meets European market demands and generates economic value for local communities.

The Moldova Tourism Forum 2026 will take place on September 24, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and participation is confirmed upon prior registration.
