Electricity shortage on September 22; citizens advised to avoid high-consumption appliances
On Tuesday, September 22, the Republic of Moldova will record an electricity trade deficit of 229 MWh between 17:00 and 21:00. According to Energocom, this shortfall is caused by insufficient capacity on the interconnectors with Romania and Ukraine.
According to Energocom, the largest unmet electricity demand is forecast for the 19:00–20:00 interval, at 111 MWh.
Between 18:00 and 19:00, the deficit will be 59 MWh.
For the 17:00–18:00 and 20:00–21:00 intervals, deficits of 4 MWh and 55 MWh, respectively, are forecast.
The company notes that, for the remaining hours of the day, it has secured the necessary capacity to meet electricity demand.
In light of this, Energocom urges consumers to use energy wisely, particularly during peak hours (18:00–23:00).
Citizens are encouraged to postpone the use of high-consumption appliances whenever possible and to avoid wasting energy.
