Vegas Golden Knights qualify for Stanley Cup quarterfinals
The Vegas Golden Knights are the first team to qualify for the Stanley Cup quarterfinals! The Vegas team advanced to the next round, knocking the Winnipeg Jets out of the competition. In their fifth game, the Golden Knights won 4-1.
The hosts clearly dominated and led 4-0 after goals by Chandler Stephenson, who scored a brace, Mark Stone and William Karlsson.
The Jets reduced the deficit late on through Kyle Connor. This gave the Vegas Golden Knights their fourth win in the series and a 4-1 overall victory.
The Las Vegas team will play the winner of the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers in the quarterfinals. After five games played in the playoffs, the Oilers are 3-2 overall and need one more win to qualify.
The game is scheduled for Saturday night in Los Angeles.
