Elections in UTA Găgăuzia //Voters’ turnout by 18:00 is 48.6%
UPDATE 18:45: According to the Central Electoral Commission from Comrat, 47,417 people, or 48.6% of people with the right to vote, voted by 18:00. The highest voters’ turnout rate was recorded in the town Cotovskoe - 67.3%, followed by Vulcănești- 52%, Ceadîr-Lunga - 48.7%, and Comrat - 45.6%.
UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: According to the Central Electoral Commission from Comrat, by 3:00 p.m., 37,157 people, or 38.6% of people voted in the lections. The highest voters’s turnout was recorded in Cioc-Maidan - 49.5%, in Vulcănești, 42.3%, in Ceadîr-Lunga - 38.1%, and in Comrat - 34.5%.
The elections in the Gagauz autonomy develop without deviations. By 09:45, the turnout was 6%, announced the Central Electoral Commission from Comrat.
The presence of two members of the People's Assembly to vote in the elections was also announced. Thus, 7.9% of the voters have already voted in Vulcănești, and - 10% in Cioc-Maidan.
In all, 5,546 people voted, of which 5,015 voted on the main lists and 531 on the supplementary lists.
The most active constituency is in the town of Budjac - with an 11 percent voter turnout, and the most passive - the one in Copceac, where only 3.9% of voters came to vote.
In all, 92,519 voters are registered in the Gagauz autonomy.
According to the president of the CEC from Comrat, Iana Covalenco, for now there are no complaints regarding the voting process.
The authorities also announced that people who do not have valid identity documents can request the issuance of provisional documents at the multifunctional centers in Comrat, Ceadîr-Lunga and Vulcănești, which will be open until 21:00.
We remind you that eight candidates registered for the position of mayor. It is about Nicolai Dudoglo, Grigorii Uzun, Mihail Formuzal, Victor Petrov, Dumitru Croitor, Serghei Cernev, Evghenia Guțul and Serghei Cimpoies. The winner will get a four-year term.
The position of mayor has been held by Irina Vlah until now. However, she can no longer run, as she has held two consecutive mandates.
In order to validate the elections, at least half of the voters included in the electoral lists must be present in the elections of the mayor, and in the elections of deputies - at least a third of the voters registered in their constituencies.
The Central Electoral Commission accredited 75 international observers to monitor the elections in Gagauzia.
