Moldovan agricultural producers submitted 185 applications totaling roughly €0.98 million (approx. 19.64 million MDL) to subsidize insurance premiums for 2025 contracts, the country's farm payment agency announced following the close of its September call.

The filings were collected between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30 under a financial support scheme launched in late August by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The state mechanism covers a portion of the premiums paid by farmers to insure their production assets against adverse weather and production hazards.

Rigorous evaluation ahead of disbursement

Financing will be drawn from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development. State authorities will review all files before clearing any payments, ensuring compliance with the Law on Subsidised Insurance in Agriculture.

“Received applications will be examined in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework,” said the Agriculture Intervention and Payment Agency (AIPA) in a statement.

The agency noted that payments will be processed within the limits of available financial allocations in the national fund. Official results of the verification and approval stages will be made public once administrative assessments conclude.
