Parliament is in session on Monday. The budget law - on the agenda
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova meets on Monday, December 12, in plenary session. The MPs are going to debate and vote on the main budget projects for next year. The meeting is scheduled for 09:00.
Thus, on the agenda of the meeting on December 12, there are five projects, among which that of the state budget for 2023, of the state social insurance budget for 2023, as well as the draft of the Law on mandatory medical assistance insurance funds for next year.
At the same time, the lawmakers will submit the draft law on the amendment of the State Budget Law for the year 2022 to debates in the Parliament plenary session.
TRM.MD recalls that the main budget projects for the year 2023, including the State Budget Law and Fiscal and Customs Policy, the State Social Insurance Budget Law, and the Law on compulsory health care insurance funds were approved by members of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 7.
Thus, according to the Cabinet, the draft law of the state budget for the year 2023 is based on an economic growth of 2% and the average annual inflation level of 15.7%. The government announces that, in 2023, the revenues of the state budget will constitute 64.9 billion lei, 9.3% more than the income specified in the current year, and the expenses will be 83.2 billion lei, higher by 12.5%. The state budget deficit, which will be 18.3 billion lei, would be covered from internal and external sources.
At the same time, in the state social insurance budget (BASS) for next year, total revenues of around 38.7 billion lei are estimated, an increase of 7.5 billion lei or 24.1% compared to 2022. The same amount of 38.7 billion lei is also forecast for expenses.
Meanwhile, the 2023 draft Law on Mandatory Healthcare Insurance Funds foresees both revenues and expenditures of around 14.1 billion lei. Compared to the approved amount for 2022, revenues and expenses are forecast to increase by 15.1%.
