Romanian Defence Minister: Romania advocates for increasing Moldova's resilience
Romania's Ministry of National Defence advocates the strengthening of our country's defence capacity, especially in the context of the exposure to hybrid threats from Russia. The statement was made by the Minister of National Defence in Bucharest, Angel Tîlvăr, who stressed that the Republic of Moldova is a strategic priority for Romania. For his part, Chisinau Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatyi said that Bucharest had provided significant help in strengthening defence capabilities, including training, instruction and experts.
"I would also like to mention Romania's assistance in promoting external projects aimed at strengthening Moldova's defence capabilities, such as the increased assistance package from the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as the European Peace Facility. We agreed to strengthen partnerships between our defence institutions in the context of achieving the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Defence," Anatolie Nosatii said.
"Romania is constantly advocating for increased support from the European Union to increase Moldova's resilience, strengthen its defence capacity and counter hybrid threats. Given the persistent attempts to destabilise the Republic of Moldova as part of the Russian Federation's hybrid actions, this support is essential", said Romanian Minister Angel Tylvar.
The Romanian Minister of Defence, Angel Tîlvar, is on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova on Tuesday 2 May. The official will spend two days in our country.
