Sculeni border crossing congestion; drivers should consider alternative crossings
Heavy traffic was reported at the Sculeni customs post—on the side exiting the Republic of Moldova—on Saturday, October 17. The Customs Service reports more travellers and vehicles and recommends that drivers use other border crossing points to avoid congestion.
The institution says customs officers and border police are working at full capacity to keep traffic moving and reduce wait times.
Travelers intending to leave the Republic of Moldova via the Sculeni border crossing are advised—if their route allows—to choose one of the following border crossing points instead:
- Leova–Bumbăta;
- Cahul–Oancea;
- Leușeni–Albița.
