Supporting local producers boosts the economy: 'Made in Moldova 2027' launches three initiatives

The 24th edition of the National Exhibition “Made in Moldova” introduces three new initiatives to give local producers greater visibility. The event will take place from 27 to 31 January 2027 at Moldexpo, where nearly 500 producers are expected to gather under the slogan “At Home! Authentic! Home-grown!”

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergiu Harea, said the “Courtyard of Flavours” initiative would put traditional cuisine centre stage, helping the Republic of Moldova establish itself as a tourist destination.

“Here we will find a range of local delicacies, which we will be able to buy. Secondly, every year we bring in new companies that have not previously taken part in this exhibition, and this year we aim to have 24 new companies. We will also create a visitor route for them and give vouchers to people who visit these stands, so they can enjoy certain benefits when buying those goods. The third new feature is promoting the idea we launched this year: ‘From field to glass – from glass to shelf’. (...) We will bring milk producers and processors face to face with retail chains operating in the Republic of Moldova, in order to encourage the consumption and purchase of goods and services from the Republic of Moldova, made here at home,” the CCI President said on Radio Moldova’s “Zi de Zi” show.

The exhibition’s main objective remains to bring producers and consumers closer together and, at the same time, to expand opportunities for cooperation in domestic and foreign markets.

“Dialogue between exhibitors and visitors is very important. Through these discussions, we can find a partner, present our products, test consumer opinion and, at the same time, find partners both at home and abroad. (...) Last year, we had 70 cooperation agreements signed,” Sergiu Harea said.

International Business Forum “Moldova Presents”

The programme also includes the International Business Forum “Moldova Presents”, designed to facilitate meetings between entrepreneurs, identify new partners and explore opportunities to expand into foreign markets.

“The Republic of Moldova has signed cooperation agreements with more than 170 Chambers of Commerce and Industry in over 78 countries. We will invite all our partners to promote local producers, and these delegations will also include businesspeople interested in investing in the Republic of Moldova, purchasing goods, or sharing knowledge that we could adopt, so that we can build competitive, export-oriented companies,” Sergiu Harea noted.

Discounts for early applicants

Companies interested in taking part can register until 18 December 2026. The first ten firms to submit their applications will receive a discount on the participation fee. The same benefit will also go to the company that proposes the most creative and attractive exhibition stand.

“Based on our experience over the past five years, we cannot offer everyone space, as it is limited – 3,000 square metres indoors and 300 square metres outdoors. That is why we are offering the first ten applicants who submit their applications a 10% discount on the participation fee, and the best-looking stand will also receive 10% off the participation fee,” the CCI President said.

Buying local products: an investment in the economy

Promoting local products has effects that go beyond direct sales at the exhibition. According to Sergiu Harea, buying products made in the Republic of Moldova helps maintain jobs, contributes to public revenue and strengthens the country’s image in foreign markets.

“By supporting local producers, we support the national economy, jobs in the Republic of Moldova and contributions to the national public budget. This is, first and foremost, good for the Republic of Moldova,” Sergiu Harea told the public radio station.

The "Made in Moldova" exhibition is organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) under the patronage of the Government, in partnership with the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development, the Investment Agency, and the Enterprise Europe Network. The organisers estimate the event will attract about 70,000 visitors from within the country and abroad.
