The CNA and the anti-corruption prosecutors conduct searches at several addresses in Chisinau, including at public persons within the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance of the Chisinau Municipal Council. The information was confirmed for our website by the person in charge of the CNA press service, Ina Voloșciuc.
"We will come up with details after the completion of the operation", said Ina Voloșciuc.
The mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban qualified the raids as a harassment of his colleagues, organized by the current government.
"My colleagues are being persecuted and harassed. The police came today to the Head of the Health Directorate, Boris Gîlca, and to other employees, because also today, Chisinau City Hall is organizing the biggest Social Forum and the government does not like it, because many guests from outside the country are coming. About 100 speakers and guests from 30 countries", wrote Ceban on Facebook.
In response, OT PAS from Chisinau wrote that Ion Ceban's accusations are purely political.
"Institutions and legal bodies are independent and act according to the law. The accusations of Ion Ceban are purely political and of victimization", reads the PAS Chisinau message.
