Zelensky: Putin "deserves to be condemned and brought to The Hague"
Volodymyr Zelensky made a surprise visit to the Netherlands, where he met with the leaders of the International Criminal Court, being protected by an impressive security service. During a press conference, Zelensky accused Russia of 6,000 war crimes committed in Ukraine in April alone.
The Kiev leader called in The Hague for the creation of a war crimes court separate from the International Criminal Court and said that only a special court is capable of holding Russia accountable for crimes committed in its country.
According to him, the aggressor must feel the full force of justice. At the same time, the president of Ukraine claims that it is unfair to pass on our problems to future generations.
For his part, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that he supports Ukraine and that the Netherlands will do its best to ensure that justice is done for Ukraine.
In March, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights, for an alleged scheme to forcibly deport thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia.
