Fenerbahce continues fight to qualify for Euroleague semi-finals
Fenerbahce Istanbul does not give up in the Euroleague basketball play-offs! Trailing 0-2 overall after the first two games of the quarter-final series with Olympiacos Piraeus, the Turkish group has won two straight at home and matched its opponent.
In the fourth game Fenerbahce beat the Greek side 73:69. The hosts were trailing at half-time, more precisely after two halves, but they came back in the decisive moments and got the long-awaited victory. Canadian Dyshawn Pierre and Greek-born basketball player Tyler Dorsey were the top scorers for the winning team. Together they scored 33 points, almost half of the host team's total.
Qualification for the Final Four will be decided in the fifth and final game. Olympiacos and Fenerbahce will battle on 9 May at the home court of the Greek team. So far only FC Barcelona has qualified for the final round of Euroleague basketball, having defeated Zalgiris Kaunas in three games. In the pairs AS Monaco-Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Real Madrid-Partizan Belgrade, the overall score is also tied, 2-2.
