United for Europe: Five pro-European parties sign a joint declaration on Europe Day

Five pro-European parties have signed a joint declaration on Europe Day. According to the signatories of the declaration, the full and effective integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU can guarantee our citizens peace, dignity, security and well-being. They argue that accession to the European Union is a project of cohesion, transformation and modernisation of society.

"We support the commitment of the central authorities to undertake and implement structural and far-reaching reforms that will give credibility to the EU accession process and ensure conditions of well-being and prosperity for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova. We support the unconditional withdrawal of the Republic of Moldova from the CIS. We are obliged to categorically reject federalisation tendencies", said CUB President Igor Munteanu.

The signatories say they are committed to do their utmost to support the authorities in Chisinau on the accession of our country to the big European family.

"The further away from Russia the better for us. Moldova's place is with the civilised world, within the EU and within Romania. We deserve to live a decent life, to live in peace," said PL President Mihai Ghimpu.

"I want to draw your attention to the fact that we are in the Stable of Europe. Across the street from us, Soviet flags are gathering to parade with trumpets, bugles, drums, fanfare and brandy to celebrate the millions of human lives lost in World War II. We are probably the only state in Europe still living after the division of Europe between Hitler and Stalin," said PDA President Vasile Costiuc.

"I believe that the European agenda must be the agenda of the whole society and not only of one party or one leader, and it is precisely through the declaration we are signing today that we want to show that we are several pro-European parties and we see Moldova in the big European family", underlined Ruslan Codreanu, chairman of the People's Power Party.

"People always ask us in the territory but when will you get along there among yourselves, here today we are signing a convention of understanding. Only together, in harmony as nature, we will emerge victorious", said the President of the National Council of the PVE, Andrei Dumbraveanu.

Immediately after the signing of the declaration, CUB members went to lay flowers at the monument to Mihai Eminescu in the Europe Square.
