German Chancellor Scholz urges Europe not to be intimidated by Putin
The European Union must not be intimidated by Russia's display of military might, but continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Tuesday, reports Agerpres.

"Two thousand two hundred kilometres northeast of here, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin is today parading his soldiers, tanks and missiles. We must not be intimidated by such power games! Let us remain steadfast in our support for Ukraine, however long it takes!" the German chief executive told MEPs in Strasbourg in a speech quoted by Reuters.
In a speech to the European Parliament on Europe Day, the German chancellor called on the European Union to make greater efforts to integrate the defence industry and for joint procurement of ammunition for Ukrainian forces while Russia continues its war in Ukraine.
"Russia's brutal war of aggression against Ukraine has shown how vital this is," he said.
Scholz added that the EU should pursue closer military cooperation.
