War in Ukraine: Bomb attacks continue in several regions
In the last 24 hours, Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks on 11 towns in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people continue to live in the dark in Odessa and other regions due to attacks on energy infrastructure. Emergency crews are working to alleviate the power outage.

In Kherson, two people were killed and five others injured after Russian troops shelled the southern region of Ukraine. As a result of the attacks, a maternity hospital, a cafe, and an apartment block were destroyed. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army, about 20 airstrikes and more than 60 missile attacks hit targets across Ukraine. In recent weeks, Russia has concentrated all its forces to try to capture the city of Bahmut. There, fierce fighting turned into bloody trench warfare reminiscent of World War I. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the city of Bahmut is in ruins. Ukrainians say, meanwhile, that in Luhansk Russian forces have suffered "significant losses". The situation is also uncertain in the city of Melitopol occupied by the Russians. The Ukrainian military said it attacked a barrack of Russian forces, causing heavy damage and dozens of casualties among enemy forces, while Moscow says only a handful of people were injured. Explosions were also reported in Russian-occupied Crimea, including Sevastopol and Simferopol. The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that the Russian Armed Forces are continuing offensive operations in the direction of Donetsk, according to the Kremlin-friendly news agency TASS. It should be noted that the European Union's foreign ministers will meet today to try to reach an agreement on new sanctions against Russia and Iran and on an additional two billion euros for arms deliveries to Ukraine. At the same time, US President Joe Biden reaffirmed his support for Ukraine, announcing that the US state will provide $53 million for energy infrastructure and a package of $275 million in ammunition and equipment.
