Roberta Metsola: "For us there is no doubt: our future is together"
The President of the European Parliament will be in the Republic of Moldova on Sunday, May 21, where she will deliver a speech at the "European Moldova" Assembly. She will also have meetings with the head of state Maia Sandu and the prime minister Dorin Recean, said the spokesperson of the president of the European Parliament, Jüri Laas.
"I am looking forward to being in Chisinau on Sunday to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova. Your place is in the European Union and we fully support you on the path to future membership. The European Parliament will always be a true friend and ally of the Republic of Moldova. Because for us there is no doubt: our future is together", said Roberta Metsola on the eve of the visit to Chisinau.
We remind you that Roberta Metsola paid an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on November 11, 2022, one day after our country was visited by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The two European officials had meetings with the top leadership of the country, during which they confirmed the EU's support for the Republic of Moldova, in the context of the multiple crises it is facing.
Roberta Metsola also gave a speech in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. "Moldova's place is in Europe. Our future is to be together, and the European Parliament will do everything necessary to be with you on your way to becoming a member state of the European Union. This is the history that we will write together - for the benefit of everyone in Europe", said Metsola from the podium of the Legislative in Chisinau.
