The head of state, on the same plane with the president of the Swiss Confederation: "We talked about the complicated situation in the region"
Moldovan-Swiss bilateral cooperation, the situation in the region, the crises and the actions taken to reduce their impact on the population, were discussed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis. The two officials flew together from Geneva, where they attended the Effective Development Cooperation Summit.
"On the way from Geneva, where I participated today in the Effective Development Cooperation Summit, I spoke with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis. We talked about bilateral cooperation, the complicated situation in our region, the multiple crises we are facing and the actions we are taking to reduce their impact on the population", announced the head of state in a post on her official Facebook page. President Sandu announces that she has thanked the President of the Swiss Confederation for the assistance provided by Switzerland in several areas, including for health, water and sanitation projects, the development of local communities, environmental protection, the development of technical vocational education, as well as for projects in areas such as diaspora and culture. "I thanked President Cassis for the support given by the Swiss side in the discussions on the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA and I appreciated the fact that the substantive negotiations on it are almost completed. This agreement will contribute to the increase of trade with the EFTA countries - Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway",reads the message posted by President Maia Sandu.
