The "European Moldova" National Assembly will take place in Chișinău and in 33 other cities across Europe
The "European Moldova" National Assembly will take place today in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) in Chișinău, as well as in 33 other cities across Europe. The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, will participate in the event and deliver a speech. The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, will also deliver a message
The event is organised by the government. The organisers have stated that the Assembly is a non-political action, open to all citizens who support our country's European path.
The Assembly will begin at 11:00 am with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Moldova, interpreted by opera singer Valentina Naforniță, followed by the European Union Anthem performed by the Moldova Youth Orchestra and the "Moldova" Choir.
The program will continue with an address by President Maia Sandu and a message from the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The event will proceed with the performance of "Ode to Europe" composed by Eugen Doga, followed by several messages to the citizens. Subsequently, the "European Moldova" resolution will be adopted.
At the end of the event, there will be a musical program featuring Vali Boghean Band, Nicolae Botgros, and the "Lăutarii" Orchestra.
President Maia Sandu has assured that the security of the citizens participating in the "European Moldova" Assembly is guaranteed, and the information in the public sphere regarding possible "destabilizations" during the event is nothing but falsehoods spread by opponents of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.
In turn, the Chief of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Viorel Cernăuțeanu, mentioned that the police will be on duty today to ensure the security of the participants in the National Assembly. According to him, the law enforcement officers will take all necessary measures to ensure the event takes place in a safe environment for all citizens. Viorel Cernăuțeanu recommended that citizens attending the event avoid carrying bulky bags and not possess prohibited items.
In the context of this event, the traffic on Stefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, within the perimeter of Mitropolit G. Bănulescu-Bodoni Street and A. Pușkin Street will be suspended, and public transportation passing through PMAN will be redirected to adjacent streets.
