The President of the United States has announced a new package of military aid worth $375 million for Ukraine

The American President, Joe Biden, announced the provision of a new package of American military aid to Ukraine during a meeting with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky at the G7 summit in Hiroshima, as reported by France Press and Reuters. Biden's announcement comes a few days after giving approval for allies to supply F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv.

The American aid package will include ammunition, artillery, and armored vehicles valued at up to $375 million and is explicitly aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in its war with Russia. Following the approval of the United States and their commitment to supporting the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Denmark, and Portugal have expressed readiness to support the initiative.

The specific details of who, when, and how many aircraft will be delivered to Ukraine will be decided later.

The F-16 aircraft are assembled by the American company Lockheed Martin in the United States and Europe. Zelensky stated that the transfer of this type of aircraft to Ukraine would be a historic moment for Europe and the world as a whole.

Speaking to journalists in Japan, he seemed to confirm the loss of the city of Bakhmut to Wagner Group troops, as announced by their leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin. When asked if the city was still under Kyiv's control, Zelensky responded, "I don't think so." Later, his spokesperson clarified that the President had been misunderstood and denied the Russians' capture of Bakhmut.
