Roberta Metsola: The whole world has witnessed your courage as you defied Russian threats. Moldova is not alone!

The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, began her address to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the Romanian language. From the stage at the Great National Assembly Square, Roberta Metsola stated that "Europe is Moldova" and that she is in Chisinau today to support and confirm the Moldovans' decision to become members of the European family.

"We live in unstable times. Nevertheless, you can be proud that those who have tried to destabilize your country have not succeeded. The whole world has seen your courage as you defied Russian threats. I assure you that you will always have a friend and a true ally in the European Parliament. Some of my colleagues are here today, and we are proud to be your biggest supporter in your path towards European Union membership. As you have gathered here on this important day to send a pro-European message to the international community, I give you my response, on behalf of the European Parliament: Keep going, Moldova is not alone!" stated Roberta Metsola.

At this moment, the "European Moldova" Assembly is taking place in the Great National Assembly Square, with the participation of citizens from all over the country who are expressing their choice for European integration. It should be noted that the Assembly will conclude with the adoption of the "European Moldova" Resolution.

The "European Moldova" Assembly took place in Chisinau, as well as in 33 other European cities.
