Huge chance in the European cups! A club from the Republic of Moldova will start the second preliminary round of the Conference League

The Republic of Moldova will be represented next season by 4 teams in the European interclub cups, but the good news is that one of the clubs will avoid the first preliminary round and will start its evolution directly from the second round.

According to UEFA, the future winner of the Cup of the Republic of Moldova will debut in the new edition of the Conference League in the second round. In the Cup final, on 28 May, in Hincesti, CSF Balti will face Sheriff Tiraspol. Therefore, if the team from Balti wins the trophy, it will go directly to the second preliminary round of the Conference League, the third most important inter-club competition on the European continent. However, if the Cup is won by the team from Tiraspol, which has qualified for the Champions League preliminaries, then the second preliminary round of the Conference League will be held by the national vice-champion Petrocub Hincesti.

"The news is good. If it will be us, then we will be very happy. Direct qualification to the Round 2 is an extra bonus for the club's budget. All the teams tend towards that.", said Alexei Savinov, coach of Petrocub Hincesti team.

Sheriff is set to debut in the new European Cup season in the first preliminary round of the Champions League, Zimbru Chisinau in the first round of the Conference League. Milsami Orhei still has a chance to play in this stage of the competition, but only if CSF Balti loses the final of the Moldovan Cup.
