Moldovan President Maia Sandu thanked Moldovan people for the success of the EPC Summit
Moldovan President Maia Sandu has thanked the people of Moldova to whom the success of the EPC Summit is owed - from diplomats and security officers to road workers and technicians - in a message published on her Facebook page. "With you and people like you Moldova will surely join the European Union," she said.
In a word of thanks, Maia Sandu expressed her gratitude to the "hard-working and dedicated people, thanks to whom Moldova is at the heart of Europe".
"On 1 June, we wrote history together - Moldova was the centre of Europe. This did not just happen, but thanks to hard-working and dedicated people; some were more visible, others less, but all worked hard to make this event possible."
All the guests said in unison that the European Political Community Summit in Moldova was a success, and this success is due to you, the people of Moldova, stressed Maia Sandu.
"Thank you to each of you: diplomats, security officers, road workers, labourers, traffic wardens, policemen, carabinieri, train attendants, drivers, doctors, cooks, journalists, photographers, translators, florists, soldiers, accountants, waiters, cleaners and sanitation officers, technicians, drivers, artists, videographers, directors, communicators, civil servants, all those who ensured order and security, the inhabitants of Bulboaca commune, the Mimi Castle team and many others! You are the team with whom we made the impossible possible. And we succeeded. You made Europe feel at home. With you and with people like you Moldova will surely join the European Union", concluded the head of state.
Yesterday, the Republic of Moldova hosted the second edition of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit. Gathered at Mimi Castle in Bulboaca commune, heads of state and government, as well as senior EU officials, discussed security on the European continent, energy security and interconnection.
The EPC aims to promote political dialogue and cooperation to address issues of common interest and to strengthen the security, stability and prosperity of the European continent.
