"Russia will respond accordingly," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation said in a press statement cited by APA. The reaction comes in the context in which the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest, Valeri Kuzmin, was informed about the decision of the Romanian authorities to reduce the diplomatic and technical-administrative staff of the Russian Federation in Romania by limiting their number to a level close to that of the representation diplomatic and technical-administrative relations of Romania in the Russian Federation, announced the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Thus, Russia must reduce the number of positions in Romania by 51, namely by 21 diplomat positions and by 30 technical-administrative staff positions,- i.e. with 11 diplomats and 29 people who are part of the technical-administrative staff.

The Russian side was informed that it has a maximum of 30 days to implement the decision of the Romanian side, and if this deadline is not respected, the Romanian MFA will take measures to implement the decision by withdrawing the accreditation of some staff members.
