Maia Sandu starts the public discussions regarding the initiative to create the "Patriot" Center
The initiative to create the "Patriot" National Center for Information Defense and Combating Propaganda was submitted to public discussions. In this regard, President Maia Sandu had meetings with representatives of development partners and civil society.
The head of state spoke about the purpose of creating the Center, its basic duties and how it will prevent and combat disinformation and propaganda. The participants came up with suggestions for improving the draft law, reads a press release of the Presidency.
The consultation process will continue in the coming weeks.
We remind you that at the end of May, President Maia Sandu announced the creation of the National Center for Information Defense and Combating Propaganda, called "Patriot".
The center will have the mission to coordinate and implement the state policy in the field of information security and to ensure strategic communication in order to identify the prevention and fight against disinformation at the national level.
