The Republic of Moldova deployed the first policeman to the peacekeeping mission in South Sudan
The Republic of Moldova has deployed a policeman to the peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, under the UN auspices. It is about Serghei Gabatiuc, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration states in a press release.
According to the ministry, this mission is an opportunity to exchange experience with UNPOL police officers and to promote peace, stability and public order in South Sudan.
"The experience gained in the Republic of Moldova is very useful to me. We have good practices in the field of policing in our country, which I share with colleagues here. I am proud that I was the first Moldovan police officer recruited to participate in this mission, and I would like other colleagues of mine to try in the future", says Serghei Gabatiuc.
By participating in such missions, the MFAIE mentions, the Republic of Moldova joins the contributing countries not only with military troops, but also with policemen in the efforts of the international community to ensure peace, security, conflict prevention, their resolution by peaceful means and post-conflict reconstruction, held under the UN auspices.
