Russia launches its first nighttime drone attack on Kiev in the last 12 days
Russia launched a drone attack on Kiev overnight Saturday after a 12-day hiatus, with air defense systems destroying all targets as they approached, Reuters and Agerpres reported.
"Another enemy attack on Kiev," Serhii Popko, the colonel-general who heads the capital's military administration, said in a Telegram post. "At this time there are no reports of possible casualties or damage."
Reuters confirmed that explosions similar to the sound of Aryan defense systems as they hit targets were heard. There was no immediate information on the scale of the attack.
The capital Kyiv, its region and a number of regions in central and eastern Ukraine were under air raid alerts for about an hour after 02:00 AM local time (23:00 GMT).
