Training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft could begin in Romania at the end of August, President Klaus Iohannis said yesterday, present at the "European Union - Community of Latin American and Caribbean States" Summit in Brussels, writes Radio Romania News.
President Klaus Iohannis said on Monday that the training of Ukrainian pilots on F16 aircraft in Romania will begin at the end of this summer and will be a project that will last very long.
“My interest is to have a well prepared, solid project, with a very efficient instructor and to have here a successful project for the Romanian Army,” the head of state said before the EU-CELAC meeting.
On the sidelines of the summit, issues related to supporting the green transition and digitization, increasing the resilience of value chains on the two continents, the principles of the UN Charter, good governance and democratic values will be addressed.
