CEB supports the healthcare system in the Republic of Moldova with 900 thousand euros, in the context of the refugee crisis in Ukraine
The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) disbursed the grant worth 900 thousand euros, awarded to the Republic of Moldova from the Migrant and Refugee Fund (FMR), in order to support the national health system, in the context of the refugee crisis in Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Health, the financial means were transferred to the account of the National Medical Insurance Company and will cover the expenses of the hospital medical institutions that provided free medical assistance to refugees, in medical-surgical emergencies and treatment of COVID-19. The grant agreement between the Republic of Moldova and CEB was signed in Chisinau, this August, by the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, and in October it was ratified by the Parliament. CEB implements socially oriented investment projects, and the FMR, a trust fund established by CEB, aims to help member states manage emergency situations related to migrants and refugees on their territory.
