EBRD continues to be a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova
The EBRD invests in infrastructure projects: roads, railways, power lines, to better connect the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. This was reiterated during the meeting of the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso, with the Head of State, Maia Sandu, and the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu. Discussions with the officials in Chisinau focused on EBRD-funded programmes and the country's socio-economic development priorities.
Sandu expressed her appreciation for the European Bank's contribution to strengthening our country's energy security and independence, while the head of the legislature told the EBRD President about the reform programme that should culminate in Moldova's rapprochement with the European Union.
Odile Renaud-Basso is on a working visit to Chisinau from 24-26 July.
The EBRD is the largest institutional investor in Moldova. Last year it financed projects worth €500 million.
