The passport application procedure was simplified
The procedure for issuing the passport has been considerably simplified, announces the Public Services Agency, following the changes made previously in several normative acts. Thus, when submitting the application for the perfecting of a passport, the presentation of civil status documents is no longer mandatory.
According to the new provisions, when submitting the application for the completion of a passport, the presentation of civil status documents is no longer mandatory, including in the case of issuing a passport for a child, if there have been no changes in the civil status and personal data of the parents or the child. At the same time, it is no longer necessary to present the identity card for persons over the age of 16, if the identity card has not been lost, stolen or damaged and is valid.
Moreover, the Public Services Agency attests to a significant increase in the number of applications for passports during the summer period. Thus, to save time, citizens are urged to schedule in advance.
The application for the issuance of the passport can be submitted at any multifunctional center of the Public Services Agency, and abroad - at any diplomatic mission or consular office.
Payment can be made online, from any mobile device connected to the Internet, through the government's electronic payment service (MPay). Also, those wishing can request that the passport be delivered to their home.
