The Central Electoral Commission approved the calendar program for the organization and conduct of the general local elections on November 5, 2023. Thus, the electoral period will begin on Monday, August 7, and the electoral campaign - on October 6, 2023.
The candidates for the positions of mayor and councilors in local councils will be nominated and registered 60 days before the election day.
So far, 12 parties have announced their candidates for the seat of mayor of Chisinau City Hall. The general local elections are to be held this fall, on November 5, and will cost the state budget around 178 million lei.
