Moldova relies on EBRD support to expand transport and energy links with EU
Moldovan President Maia Sandu has expressed her gratitude to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for its support in expanding transport and energy links with the European Union.
Sandu made the remarks during a meeting with Angela Sax, the head of the EBRD's office in Chisinau, who is wrapping up her mission in Moldova.
"We appreciate the EBRD's assistance in implementing projects in the field of infrastructure, supporting the private sector, and promoting best practices to improve the investment climate," Sandu said.
The president noted that Moldova is investing in energy infrastructure and diversifying gas sources with the EBRD's support.
"We are committed to continuing our close cooperation with the EBRD," Sandu said. "We believe that the EBRD is a reliable partner that can help us achieve our development goals."
The EBRD has been active in Moldova since 1993. It has invested over €1.5 billion in the country, financing projects in a variety of sectors, including energy, transport, agriculture, and tourism.
