Vladimir Putin used the word "war" for the first time regarding the invasion of Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin used the word "war" for the first time in a speech on Thursday regarding the conflict in Ukraine. The Kremlin leader said that Russia wants "an end to the war in Ukraine" and that all armed conflicts end with diplomatic negotiations, reports Reuters.
Vladimir Putin gave a speech a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House. The Russian president also stated that he has said it several times that the escalation of hostilities leads to unjustified loss of human life. At the same time, the leader from Moscow downplayed the importance of the Patriot anti-aircraft systems that the US is going to give to Ukraine. According to Vladimir Putin, the Patriot is a "quite old" anti-aircraft system that does not compare to its Russian S-300.
