Moldovan coach crash in Romania injures 22, including children

A coach carrying 73 Moldovan citizens on holiday collided with a lorry trailer stopped on the side of the road in Romania on Friday night, injuring 22 people, including children.

The accident happened between the towns of Însurăței and Bărăganu in the county of Brăila. The coach was travelling from Moldova to Bulgaria.

The lorry had been involved in an accident the day before, and its trailer was loaded with cereals. The trailer could not be moved, so it was pulled to the side of the road and signalled.

The injured were transported to hospitals in Braila and Slobozia. Some of the injuries were serious, but no fatalities were reported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
