Dorin Recean had a meeting with representatives of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO)

Ensuring transparency, respecting free and democratic processes in the electoral context were the topics discussed at the meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with the representatives of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO), on a mission to monitor the November 5 election.

The Head of the Executive emphasized that the Government supported a series of legislative changes to ensure a free, fair and transparent electoral process.

"It is essential that now, in the process of our country's accession to the European Union, we ensure that the law is respected not only on election day, but throughout the entire electoral period. State institutions will not allow illegal financing of parties and election campaigns. We are also counting on the recommendations of observers from ENEMO in this process", said Dorin Recean, according to a Government statement.

ENEMO representatives mentioned that the mission will provide the necessary expertise to improve the transparency of the electoral process. At the same time, its integrity and compatibility with the international obligations of the Republic of Moldova, with the standards for democratic elections, as well as with the domestic legislative framework, are to be evaluated.

To monitor the November 5 election, the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations accredited 4 core team members and 4 long-term observers as part of its International Election Observation Mission (IOM). For the local elections of November 5, ENEMO activated the 6th mission in the Republic of Moldova.
