Border Police: Over 48,000 people crossed the border on Thursday

On Thursday, November 2, the flow of people at the border of the Republic of Moldova amounted to 48,157, announces the General Inspectorate of the Border Police.

Most frequently, the border is crossed by foreign citizens – 26,448. The crossings of Moldovan citizens constituted 21,709. "In the last 24 hours, the refusal of authorization to cross the state border was applied to 15 people in the direction of entry into the Republic of Moldova," reads the statement of the Border Police.

With reference to the crossing of the border by the citizens of Ukraine, the Border Police specifies that 5,358 Ukrainians entered the Republic of Moldova. In all, the border was crossed by 10,596 Ukrainians.

The most requested were the border crossing points with Romania - 28,579 crossings, 12,831 crossings were reported at the Moldovan - Ukrainian border and another 6,747 crossings – by plane.

"We recommend travelers, before setting off, to consult the Green Line of the Border Police (022 259 717) or to check online the situation at the crossing points (http://border.gov.md/camere-web)", reads the statement.

In the last 24 hours, the border police recorded four illegal crossings of the state border; four people violated the regime of crossing points and that of the border zone; a forged travel document; seven foreign citizens violated the rules of stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and seven violations of the rules for the use of the vignette.

Deputies meet in a new plenary session. According to the agenda approved by the Standing Bureau, the Parliament is to ratify an agreement that provides for Canada to offer a loan to the Republic of Moldova in the amount of 120 million Canadian dollars, the equivalent of over one and a half billion lei. The money will be used to strengthen the resilience of households, including refugees, but also to support climate resilience and the transition to green energy. On the agenda is also a project to adjust the national regulatory framework with the provisions of the European Union legislation regarding contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services. At today's meeting, the appointment of some members of the Superior Council of Magistracy is also planned. These are Sergiu Băieșu and Tatiana Tabuncic.
