Over 29 thousand people crossed the state border on New Year’s night

More than 29 thousand people crossed the state border, on New Year’s, the Border Police announces. Of these, almost 18 thousand people entered the Republic of Moldova, and another 12 thousand - left the country. According to the border police, cross-border traffic was free, with no high traffic values recorded.

According to the quoted source, the most crossings were by foreign citizens - 17,913, the crossings of Moldovan citizens -11,630. The state border was crossed, in the last 24 hours, by 6,360 Ukrainians, of which 932 were minors, citizens of Ukraine. Out of the total number, 3,362 Ukrainians entered the Republic of Moldova. The most "active" border was with Romania - 15,080 crossings, at the Moldovan - Ukrainian border - 7,889 crossings and another 6,574 crossings – by plane. The Border Police also announces that at this time, the state border crossing points are operating normally, with moderate traffic values.
