Maia Sandu: "Democracy depends on our vote"

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, cast her vote in the local general elections. The head of state voted in Chisinau "for people she trusts." Also, Maia Sandu urged citizens to vote, "because voting means the power of the people".

"First of all, I voted as I have done every time and I will always vote because democracy is based on our vote and I want to urge all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to vote on this occasion, because the vote means the power of the people. We all want to live in a country and localities that are governed by the power of the people. I voted for people whom I trust will work honestly, responsibly, dedicatedly for the good of the people of Chisinau, and obviously I voted for people who will put their shoulder so that we can all carry out European integration projects of the Republic of Moldova, because European integration means peace, European integration means respect for every citizen of our country and means well-being", declared Maia Sandu.
