The president of the voting commission at a polling station in the village of Gradiste, Cimișlia district, died on the very day of the election. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by the spokeswoman of the General Police Inspectorate, Diana Fetco.
The 39-year-old woman complained of chest pain and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
"This morning, around 08:30, the president of the polling station in Gradiște town, Cimișlia district, said that she felt sick and complained of chest pains. Immediately, the ambulance was called to the scene and took her to the district hospital in Cimișlia, where she was hospitalized in intensive care, but unfortunately, the woman died shortly after," said Diana Fetco.
The spokeswoman of the General Police Inspectorate, Diana Fetco, mentioned that the medico-legal examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
