The mayor was elected in the first round in six municipalities in the Republic of Moldova
The municipalities of Orhei, Străseni, Soroca, Hîncești, Ceadîr-lunga and Cahul have elected their mayors.
According to the data of the Central Electoral Commission, in Orhei, the mayor's seat was won by the candidate of the Alternative and Salvation Force Party of Moldova, Tatiana Cociu with 57.59% of the total number of votes.
The majority of voters in the municipality of Soroca voted for the candidate of the Party of Socialists from the Republic of Moldova, Lilia Pilipețchi. 71.01% voted for this.
In Hîncești, the candidate of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova, Alexandru Botnari, got 51.72%. Independent candidate Valentina Casian, with 83.47% of votes becomes the mayor of Străseni.
The independent candidate Nicolae Dandiș won the elections for the position of mayor in the municipality of Cahul. He got 73.63%.
In Ceadîr-Lunga, independent candidate Anatoli Topal is elected mayor with 73.89%.
