Sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud and influence peddling

The head of the Moldovan-Dutch Foundation "Save the Street Children" was sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud and influence peddling. According to the National Anticorruption Center, in 2014, the defendant received 500 euros from a whistleblower, through breach of trust for filling in some documents.

In the same period, she received illegally 38 thousand euros. Also, in 2015, under the pretext of influencing the magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice, she received another three thousand euros from the whistleblower to influence over the adoption of a favorable decision in a civil conflict.

The sentence can be appealed.
