„Enemy UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were launched in many groups and attacked Kiev in waves, from different directions, while changing its vectors along the route”, Serhiy Popko, head of Kiev military administration, declared on the Telegram messaging application, explaining that for this reason, several air raid alerts were reported in the Ukrainian capital.

Ukrainian Air Force reported that the anti-aircraft defense system destroyed 15 of the 20 Shahed kamikaze drones attacks launched by Russia on Kiev, Poltava and Cherkassy regions.

Popko stated that, according to the first information, the attacks did not result in human casualties nor did they cause "serious damage". He also said that about 10 drones were shot down over Kiev and its outskirts.

The governor of Cerkasi region, Ihor Taburet, wrote on Telegram that debris of drones "slightly damaged" five houses, but no one was injured. The governor of Kyiv region, Ruslan Kravchenko declared that an infrastructure element was damaged in the area, but there were no human casualties.

Reuters notes that it could not verify the reports from independent sources. Russia did not comment on this information either.

Ukraine will strengthen its air defense system
