Natalia Gavrilița reiterates the Republic of Moldova's interest in procuring gas on the EU Joint Procurement Platform
The Republic of Moldova is interested in procuring natural gas on the Joint Procurement Platform with the European Union (EU). According to Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița, access to the Platform will allow our country to strengthen its process of ensuring energy security, "affected by the blackmail of the Russian Federation". The subject was addressed by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers during a bilateral meeting with MEP Manfred Weber.
"Access to this Platform will allow us to strengthen the process of ensuring the energy security of the Republic of Moldova, affected by the blackmail of the Russian Federation. Despite the fact that we were hit hard by the increase in prices and the reduction in the volume of natural gas delivered by Gazprom, we continue to look firmly in the direction of a European future", emphasised Natalia Gavrilița during the discussions, according to a statement issued by the Government.
According to the quoted source, the head of the Executive from Chisinau thanked the German official for the support given to the Republic of Moldova in the process of obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession and emphasised the progress made by the Government in the commitment to fulfill the nine conditions in order to the opening of accession negotiations.
For his part, MEP Manfred Weber reiterated the support of the European Parliament in the implementation of the reform agenda and appreciated the Government's effort in the process of managing the chain of crises that hit our country.
