Sweden allocates over five million euros as assistance for the defense of Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia

Sweden allocates over 5 million euros for defense purposes to Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, reads a press release of the Swedish Embassy in Chisinau. From this amount, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia will benefit from approximately 445 thousand euros each.

The support is provided through various NATO funds and will be used for demining, crisis management, cyber security and training. The NATO trust fund for strengthening the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova provides for the purchase of equipment, training and support for reforms.

The money earmarked for Ukraine will be used for projects involving the purchase of defense equipment, fuel, medical equipment, demining and other military training equipment.

Georgia will direct the money to projects in areas such as crisis management, cyber security, information sharing, secure communication channels and engineering skills.
