16 kilograms of drugs in coffee packets, detected by customs officials in two postal shipments
16 kilograms of pills - precursors for amphetamine production, worth over 15 million lei, hidden in two boxes of 8 kilograms each, were detected by the officers of the Anti-Fraud and Compliance Department of the Customs Service in collaboration with the officials of the Post customs office, under the direction of PCCOCS .
We remind that the two boxes were detected with the help of the dog from the Customs. Later, the boxes were scanned with the special technique and the suspicions were confirmed by the images generated by the portable X-ray detection equipment. During the detailed physical check, in each of the two boxes there were sweets and 8 packages of coffee, a total of 16 packages, and in each there was a kilogram of pills.
The recipient of these postal parcels was the 24-year-old man, a citizen of Ukraine, who was detained last week. He is currently in preventive detention.
The case was detected following investigative actions carried out by customs officers, as part of the documentation of the case registered at Costești customs, where more than 23 kg of ephedrine pills, a precursor used in the manufacture of the drug amphetamine, were detected at the beginning of the current year.
