The Pakistani Foreign Ministry called the strike an "unprovoked violation of its airspace" and warned of "serious consequences,"

Iran said the strike targeted two bases belonging to the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl, which is active in the region. The group has claimed responsibility for a number of attacks against Iranian targets in recent years.

The strike comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, following a series of rocket attacks by Iran and its proxies against Israeli and U.S. targets.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said the strike was "a clear violation of international law and international norms." It also said the attack was "particularly deplorable" because it killed innocent children.

The ministry said Pakistan had lodged a "strong protest" with Iran and demanded an explanation for the strike. It also said Pakistan would "take all necessary steps to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity."
